Open Enrollment Period:
Open enrollment is the first five days of the semester (August 21 – August 25; 2:00pm). Open enrollment is the only time during the semester when you are able to add classes to your schedule or change sections on your schedule. You are able to drop classes during open enrollment and they will not appear on your transcript. Contact the Registrar’s office (RL45B & D) to make changes to your schedule. Open enrollment ends promptly at 2:00pm Friday, August 25, 2023.
After 2:00pm Friday, August 25th, you will no longer be able to add classes or change sections on your fall schedule.
You may withdraw from a class or classes through the 10th week of the semester. The last day to withdraw from classes will be Friday, October 27th by 2:00pm. A “W” will appear on your academic transcript to show you withdrew from the class after the open enrollment period. The “W” will not affect your grade point average but may affect your financial aid. Always check with financial aid before withdrawing from classes. If you would like to drop all your classes, you must contact the Registrar’s office to withdraw from MIAD. You must complete a Drop Form and submit it to the Registrar’s Office (RL45) after open enrollment. A verbal notification to the instructor is not sufficient and will not be honored.
Waitlists:
Wait lists are monitored daily and you will receive an email if a spot opens up. You will have a limited time to respond before the next student is contacted. As soon as classes start, the wait lists are terminated and availability becomes first come first served. Once classes start, instructors are able to give permission to add to full sections. Please have the instructor contact the Registrar for permissions. If you are currently on the wait list for a class, choose a backup.
Withdrawal:
If you received a copy of your schedule with room locations, you are registered for fall classes and will be charged tuition/fees. If you do not intend to return to MIAD for the fall semester and you are still registered for classes, you MUST contact the Registrar’s office before August 25th to complete the withdrawal form. You will be charged tuition and fees if you are still registered after August 25, 20223.
Have a great semester!
