“R2” (aka “The River Rat”) is the official, juried literary journal for MIAD students! “R2” is published to showcase the range and vibrance of creative writing and art produced by students, both for MIAD classes and in the course of their own creative practice.
The journal is now accepting submissions of POETRY, FICTION, NONFICTION, and VISUAL ART. This fall’s issue of “R2” will be published in December and juried by guest editor Antonio Vargas-Nieto, who will award prizes for poetry and prose (fiction/nonfiction). Deadline to submit is October 31.
Writing faculty will hold drop-in portfolio reviews on Sept. 16 and Oct. 10 during common hour (11 a.m.) in room 495C. All students are welcome to visit us for some extra feedback on creative work before submitting!
