The MIAD Library will have modified hours for Fall Break.
We will be CLOSED on Sunday October 13th and Monday October 14th.
We will be open from 9:00a – 3:00p on Tuesday October 15th.

Beyond Books: Exploring Archives (Monday, October 14: 5:00pm – 7:00pm)
“Explore some of the Milwaukee Public Library’s unique archives and special collections. A selection of materials will be available for browsing at your own pace between 5-7 pm in our Art Music and Recreation Room on the 2nd floor of Central Library. These materials are not normally browsable and may include documents, drawings, plans, photographs and ephemera. Topics will vary monthly. No registration necessary. Please drop in and visit!”

Green Roof Tour (Wednesday, October 16: 12:30pm – 1:30pm)
“Enjoy a short tour of the library’s Green Roof! Learn about the environmental benefits of green roofs while enjoying a view of the city like no other. Please meet in the Central Library’s Rotunda to start the tour.”

Central Library Architectural Tour (Saturday, October 19: 11:00am – 12:00pm)
“Visit Milwaukee Public Library’s beautiful Central Library, a popular destination for more than a century. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Central Library has many significant architectural features including a spectacular rotunda with an Italian mosaic floor and coffered dome. The Library also features the Betty Brinn Children’s Room with the largest collection of children’s books in the state; the Richard E. and Lucile Krug Rare Books Room, featuring 14,000+ rarities; Special Collections and changing exhibits; over three million books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, and eBooks; and programs, meeting rooms, and much more.”
