If a student has extenuating/unforeseen circumstances and needs additional time to complete course work, an incomplete grade may be requested. Incomplete grade request forms, must be completed and submitted to the Registrar’s office before 2:00pm Friday, May 2nd.

The following criteria must be met:

  • Meet with instructor to discuss the possibility of an incomplete. (Instructor & Chair must approve)
  • Student has attended 66% or more of the class and has been actively participating.
  • Student is able to pass the class according to the syllabus absence policy (does not have excessive absences)
  • Student midterm grade was a D or better
  • An unforeseen circumstance (documented illness, death if the family, etc) has prevented the student from completing the class during the semester.
  • Student & instructor have met to determine the work to be completed , how work will be submitted and deadlines for the work.

If approved, faculty must submit a final grade to the Registrar’s office by 2:00pm Monday, June 2nd. Deadlines for work to be completed may before their deadline to ensure time to review work. You must abide by deadlines in the form.

Summer classes may be affected by spring incomplete grades if the spring course is a prerequisite for the summer class. The spring class will need to be resolved before the summer class begins.
