Fall schedule information

Fall classes begin Monday, August 24th! If you received your schedule, you are registered for fall classes! It is your responsibility to be in contact with your instructors if you are not attending class, for whatever reason. If you are not intending to attend fall semester, you must contact the registrar’s office to submit paperwork to withdraw. You will incur tuition and fees if you are still registered after open enrollment.

Open Enrollment

Start: Monday, August 24, 2026
Ends: 2:00pm Friday, August 28, 2026
Open Enrollment is the first five days of the semester and is the only time students can add classes, change sections and drop classes (will not appear on transcripts) to schedules. All changes must be made with the Registrar’s office (Megan Murphy: RL95B or meganmuryphy@miad.edu or Jean Weimer; RL95A or jweimer@miad.edu). Notification to instructors or others is not sufficient and will not be honored.

Open enrollment ends promptly at 2:00pm Friday, August 28th.

After 2:00pm Friday, August 28th, students are no longer able to:

  • add classes to the fall semester
  • change sections on their fall schedule
  • receive 100% refund of tuition (see business office for the full refund schedule)

After 2:00pm Friday, August 28th:

  • Students can withdraw from classes up until 2:00pm Friday, October 30, 2026.
  • Students must contact the Registrar’s office to complete the drop form. Notification to anyone except the Registrar’s office is not sufficient to drop a class(es) and will not be honored.
  • Dropped classes after open enrollment will appear on the transcript with a “W”. This indicates that the class was dropped after open enrollment. “W” does not affect the student GPA but may affect students’ financial aid. It is always strongly recommended to contact the financial aid office before withdrawing from a class; finaid@miad.edu.

Other information

  • You must contact IT (support@miad.edu) immediately if your class(es) do not appear on your CANVAS! You are also responsible to contact the instructor to let them know you are not able to access the course(s).
  • Contact IT with any CANVAS questions/problems.
  • Full-time standing is 12 credits – 18 credits. If you do not have 12 credits, you are not full-time! Contact the Registrar’s office to make changes to your schedule.

Have a great semester!
