Join Assistant Professor Sarah Eichhorn and Assistant Director of Emerging Technology Kayle Karbowski for a Driftless Program information session Wednesday, September 30th at 11:15.
This 2-week program provides students with an opportunity to submerge themselves in studio practice that is slow, intentional and community-minded. participants in the program will gain an introduction to the geological and cultural history of the Driftless region and its impact on creative and sustainable practice in the region, while having opportunities to work hands-on harvesting and making with locally sourced materials. An immersion in activities around relationality, place and sustainability serves as a focal point for the experience. The first four days of the program will take place in Milwaukee. Followed by faculty and students traveling to Viroqua, Wisconsin where Thoreau College and The Driftless Folk School will serve as the program’s home base for 10 days.
